How to See Google and Outlook Calendars in Apple Calendar
Add Google and Microsoft accounts to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac and enable their calendars to see both schedules in Apple Calendar. The events stay in their original services.
For many people, that native setup is enough. You do not need to move work meetings into iCloud or copy personal appointments into Outlook just to see the whole day.
On iPhone or iPad
On current versions, open Settings, Apps, Calendar, then Calendar Accounts. Choose Add Account and select the appropriate provider. Use Google for a Google account, Microsoft Exchange for an organization-managed Exchange account, or Outlook.com for a supported personal Microsoft account.
Follow the provider's sign-in and permission prompts, then enable Calendars. Older operating-system versions place these settings directly under Calendar in Settings.
Apple's account-setup instructions cover the available account types. For a managed work device, follow your organization's required setup.
Open Apple Calendar, tap Calendars, and select the schedules you use under each account. Include secondary family or project calendars as well as the account's primary calendar.
On a Mac
In Calendar, open Settings and Accounts, then add the supported provider account. Some macOS versions route this through Internet Accounts in System Settings.
After authorization, display the calendar list and select the calendars under the new account. Keep source names distinct so Work and Personal are easy to recognize.
Use Apple's calendar account guide for your version's controls. App access still depends on the provider's permissions and any organization rules.
If the work account cannot be added, ask the administrator about approved clients or device requirements. The organization may restrict access from this device or app.
Check where new events are saved
A combined view makes it easy to choose the wrong calendar when creating an appointment. Open the event's Calendar field and deliberately select the intended source.
For example, save a personal appointment to your personal Google or iCloud calendar, not the work Exchange account simply because that calendar was selected last.
Review the default calendar in the device's settings. It affects new appointments, so move existing events saved in the wrong calendar separately.
Editing depends on the underlying calendar
If you have edit permission, an edit in Apple Calendar can update the event in its original Google or Microsoft service. A shared read-only calendar or a subscription does not become editable because it appears in the same app.
After a test edit, look for the change in the provider's web calendar. If it is absent, inspect the account and Calendar field before trying to reconnect.
For unfamiliar account names, compare Apple Calendar with the service storing its events.
What the combined view does not change
Seeing your personal and work appointments together does not automatically make your work account busy during personal commitments. A colleague or booking page may check only the main work calendar.
If you need that occupied time reflected elsewhere, first check the native availability options for the destination. Manual busy blocks are another straightforward choice for occasional appointments. Automatic copies become useful when the source changes often.
If a visible commitment remains bookable, trace which calendars the scheduling system checks.
How Avum fits alongside the native app
Avum Calendar offers another combined view across connected Google, Microsoft, iCloud, CalDAV and read-only ICS sources. There is no need to replace Apple Calendar if it already suits you.
Avum's Sync Rules address the separate copying task. You can maintain generic personal busy blocks in a permitted work destination while keeping detailed originals in their existing accounts.
Hiding a calendar or removing an account
To stop displaying a calendar, deselect it. To remove an account, open the device's account settings and read the removal prompt. Remove the device's account access without deleting the calendar or its server-side appointments.
