Avum vs SyncThemCalendars: Pricing, Features and Which Calendar Sync Tool to Choose

SyncThemCalendars is a straightforward way to mirror Google, Outlook and iCloud calendars. Avum does the same job and goes further: it also connects CalDAV servers and ICS feeds, filters events before they are copied, and lets one rule send a calendar into several others. Once you sync more than a few calendars, Avum also costs less.

Pricing: what you pay as your calendars grow

SyncThemCalendars counts syncs. One two-way sync mirrors one pair of calendars, so a group of calendars that all block each other needs one sync for every pair: three for three calendars, six for four, and twenty-eight for eight.

Avum counts connected accounts and rules. A single Sync Rule can copy one calendar into all the others, so the same group needs one rule per calendar at most.

Where Avum gives you more

Calendars beyond the big three

Many schedules include something that is not Google, Outlook or iCloud: a Fastmail or Nextcloud calendar, a university timetable, a team rota or a sports fixture list. Avum connects CalDAV servers and ICS links directly. ICS feeds are read-only sources, so Avum copies their events into your writable calendars. For CalDAV destinations, Avum confirms the server accepts writes before it starts copying.

Deciding what gets copied

Both products can turn a personal appointment into a neutral “Busy” block. Avum also decides which events travel in the first place. You can copy only accepted meetings, only events between 08:00 and 18:00 on weekdays, only a certain color, or only events within a date range. On Plus and Premium, conditional blocks and formula- or JavaScript-based transforms handle the exceptions.

That matters when a weekend family calendar should never reach a client, or when tentative invitations should not block your work availability.

Seeing everything in one place

Avum Calendar shows all connected calendars together and lets you choose up to three time zones, so you can plan across accounts and regions without converting times in your head.

Where SyncThemCalendars is the stronger choice

SyncThemCalendars' Basic plan is a little cheaper than Avum Base on yearly billing, and five two-way syncs go a long way if you only mirror a handful of calendar pairs. Its setup is deliberately simple: pick a source and a target, choose a direction and decide which fields to hide. If that covers everything you need, it is a good, inexpensive tool.

Choose Avum if…

  • You use CalDAV, Fastmail, Nextcloud or ICS feeds
  • You want to filter by attendance, time, weekday or color
  • Four or more calendars need to block each other
  • You want a combined view with several time zones

Choose SyncThemCalendars if…

  • You only mirror a few Google, Outlook or iCloud pairs
  • You do not need event filters
  • The lowest yearly entry price matters most

Switching to Avum

Keep only one service writing to each destination. Turn off the matching SyncThemCalendars sync and remove its copies before you enable the Avum rule. Switching sync tools without duplicates explains the order, and the sync test checklist shows what to check afterwards.
