Troubleshooting
iCloud Calendar Not Syncing? Check These Settings Before Reconnecting
When iCloud Calendar stops updating, first check whether the missing event is actually stored in iCloud and whether it appears on iCloud.com. Then check service status, the signed-in account, calendar visibility and device settings before removing accounts or reconnecting other services.
Find the last place the event is visible
Open a missing appointment on the device where it was created and inspect its Calendar field. Confirm the calendar belongs to iCloud rather than Google, Exchange or a local Mac calendar.
Then check the same calendar at iCloud.com, where available. If the event is absent there, the first problem is between the creating app and iCloud. If it is present online but missing on one device, investigate that device's account or display settings.
If the account heading is unclear, identify the service storing the event before changing iCloud settings.
Check service status and the account
Look at Apple's system status page for an iCloud Calendar issue before changing your setup. A service incident is not fixed by repeatedly removing an account.
Confirm the affected devices use the intended Apple Account and that iCloud Calendar is enabled. Also check that date and time settings are correct. These are among the first checks in Apple's calendar-sync troubleshooting guide.
If you recently replaced a phone or changed accounts, do not assume the same-looking calendar name belongs to the same source.
Calendar visibility and history range
In the iPhone or iPad Calendar app, open Calendars and select the relevant iCloud calendars. On Mac, show the calendar list and inspect the iCloud section.
Look for a familiar appointment in that calendar. If recent events appear but older ones are missing, inspect the device's calendar sync-range settings and follow Apple's guidance for the installed version.
Refresh through the app's supported controls. On iPhone, pulling down in the calendar list can refresh events; on Mac, use the calendar refresh command. Avoid repeatedly creating copies of the missing event while waiting, as those can become duplicates when the source catches up.
Check where new events are being saved
If existing iCloud appointments update but new ones do not, the default calendar may have changed. An event saved in a Google or work calendar will not appear in iCloud just because Apple's app displayed it.
Create a test event and explicitly choose the iCloud calendar. Look for it online. If it arrives, correct the default calendar and move any earlier misplaced events separately.
Follow the steps for events saved to the wrong iPhone calendar if the default points elsewhere.
If the problem is Outlook on Windows
For classic Outlook, Apple's iCloud for Windows app provides the documented calendar integration. Its add-in troubleshooting does not apply directly to new Outlook. Signing in to iCloud mail in new Outlook is not confirmation that the calendar is connected too.
Apple's iCloud for Windows calendar instructions describe the classic Outlook setup.
Compare iCloud and Outlook connection methods before changing the Windows connection.
If iCloud is healthy but Avum is missing the event
Once the event is confirmed in iCloud, inspect the Apple Account connection in Avum and ensure the correct calendar is selected. Then check the relevant Sync Rule: is it active, is the calendar the source, and do its filters include the event?
Look for a reconnect requirement. Changing the main Apple Account password can revoke app-specific credentials, so an existing third-party connection may need a replacement credential even though the phone still works.
Do not share credentials in a support message. Provide a redacted example, the approximate time of the issue and the relevant connection or rule information instead of real event notes.
Reconnect only after narrowing the problem
Before removing an account, confirm important events are present at their source and read any cleanup prompts. Follow the documented reconnect process. Do not delete calendars or import old backups just to see whether it helps.
After reconnecting, use one test event: create it, change its time, then delete it, checking the destination after each step.
