Avum vs Reclaim: Calendar Sync or AI Planning?
Reclaim is an AI planner. It finds time for tasks, habits and focus blocks, and includes calendar sync as one feature among many. Avum is built for the sync itself: it copies commitments between Google, Outlook, iCloud, CalDAV and ICS calendars with detailed control over what each destination sees. If your problem is that your calendars disagree, Avum solves it for less.

Two different problems
“My calendars disagree” and “I need help finding time for my work” sound similar, but they call for different tools.
If a personal appointment at 11:00 is missing from the work Outlook calendar your coworkers check, the time is already decided. You need the work calendar to show it as busy, ideally without the title or notes. That is a sync problem, and it is what Avum is built for.
If you have five tasks due this week and want software to place them around your meetings, that is a planning problem. Reclaim is built for that, and its sync feature helps it see your whole schedule.
Why Avum is the better pick for sync
More sync for less
Reclaim's free Lite plan includes one calendar sync, and its Starter plan includes three at $12 per seat per month. Unlimited syncs start with the Business plan at $18. Avum's Base plan costs $5 and includes two rules, and a single Sync Rule can take several source calendars and copy them into several destinations. Plus gives you ten rules for $7, and Premium fifty for $10.
Calendars beyond Google and Outlook
Reclaim's documentation describes bringing other calendars in by subscribing to them in Google or Outlook first. That adds the provider's own refresh delay, which can be hours, before Reclaim sees a change. Avum connects iCloud, CalDAV servers and ICS feeds directly, which removes that step for a personal iCloud calendar, a Fastmail account or a shift rota.
Control over what every destination sees
Each Avum rule decides which events are copied, using filters for attendance, availability, color, weekdays, hours and date range, and which details appear in the copy. A client can see a neutral busy block while your own overview shows everything. On Plus and Premium, conditional blocks and formula- or JavaScript-based transforms cover more specific cases.
Where Reclaim is the stronger choice
Reclaim's planning features have no equivalent in Avum. It schedules tasks around your meetings, defends habits and focus time, reschedules them when plans change, and offers scheduling links and team features. If you want an assistant making those decisions, Reclaim is the right category of tool, and its built-in sync may be enough for Google and Outlook.
The two can also work together: Reclaim plans the week, and Avum copies the resulting busy time into calendars Reclaim does not connect directly. Give each tool its own destinations so they never write the same blocks.
